I love their philosophy. They support small businesses through walking tours.
Cape Camino has expanded and this new map illustrates the developments. Apart from some tweaks along the way, the most significant change is the addition of the West Coast, and the Berg River to Hopefield Sections.
The route is now over 640 km and expanding. We start in Paarl and our sacred destination is Table Mountain. We still have a gap to fill between Mamre and the peninsula.
Cape Camino is a personal pilgrimage owned and hosted by the communities of the Cape Province, who benefit directly by your participation. We have facilitated this process and have created ways for you to walk it.
Unique, local and diverse- landscapes, neighbourhoods and personal experiences. It is sometimes challenging- like life, circumstances may take you out of your comfort zone. This is the nature of a personal pilgrimage! The nation provides the route and you provide your response to it.
Enjoy the entire 36 days or take it on week by week or section by section.
Walk it solo, travel with friends or create new relationships by joining strangers. All opportunities are available to you on our website.
The experience will always be different and enriching, no matter how many times you do it. The addition of the West Coast has added more daisies to your bouquet!
Camino walking is an opportunity to shed- expectations, frills, and unnecessary extras. It is a time of simply being. Leave it all behind and live minimally for a while.
Some walk for solitude, some for healing, some to connect with nature, some for adventure and some to meet like-minded soul mates.
It’s YOUR journey! Walk Your Way!
